Simple measurements, visual answer

How HeightTool Works

HeightTool turns ordinary height measurements into a scaled side-by-side visual. Here is how the calculations, silhouettes, units and sharing features work.

Try the Height Comparison Tool

From number to visual comparison

The tool follows four simple steps. You provide the measurements; HeightTool handles the conversion, scaling and difference calculation in your browser.

1. Enter the heights

Add two or more measurements in feet and inches or centimetres. You can label each person so the finished comparison is easy to read.

2. HeightTool converts the measurements

The tool normalises the values to one internal measurement, allowing imperial and metric heights to be compared consistently.

3. Everything uses the same scale

Each silhouette or object is resized from the same baseline and scale. If one height is 10% greater, its visual height is approximately 10% greater too.

4. See the difference instantly

The visual updates as values change, while HeightTool also shows the numeric difference so you can understand both the measurement and what it looks like.

How the visual scale stays consistent

A height comparison only works if every figure follows the same scale. HeightTool places people and objects on one shared baseline and converts each real-world measurement into a proportional display height. That means a 6 ft figure is shown taller than a 5 ft figure by the same relative amount throughout the chart.

The silhouettes are intentionally simple. They are there to communicate height, not to estimate body shape, posture, footwear, hair height or anatomical proportions.

How HeightTool works: FAQs

How does HeightTool scale the figures?

Every person or object is rendered against the same visual scale and baseline. A taller measurement therefore produces a proportionally taller figure, so the relative difference remains consistent across the comparison.

Are feet, inches and centimetres converted automatically?

Yes. HeightTool converts between imperial and metric measurements in the browser, so you can enter a height in feet and inches or centimetres and compare it on the same scale.

How accurate is the height difference calculation?

The numeric difference is calculated directly from the measurements you enter. The visual silhouettes are designed to show that difference proportionally rather than represent a person's exact body proportions.

Does HeightTool need an account or save my measurements?

No account is required for the core tool. Comparisons are calculated in your browser. If you create a share link, the comparison settings can be encoded into that link so the same view can be reopened.

Can I compare people, characters and objects?

Yes. HeightTool can compare people and user-entered character heights, and it also includes common objects that can be placed on the same height scale for context.
